The Safer Migration (SaMi) Programme is a bilateral initiative of the governments of Nepal and Switzerland. The program is implemented in partnership between federal, provincial, and local governments. Helvetas Nepal provides technical assistance to the program on behalf of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).

The program entered phase IV on 26 November 2024. The overall objective of this phase is to enable the relevant Nepali institutions across the three levels of government to improve the situation of migrant workers and their families throughout the migration cycle. 
The impact envisaged by the program is that migrants and their families are better protected by concerned institutions and benefit from decent work conditions abroad.
