Celebrating 15 Years of SaMi! ✨

The Safer Migration (SaMi) Programme marked a significant milestone, 15 years of advancing safe, orderly, and dignified migration in Nepal, during a review, reflection, and strategic planning meeting held on July 22–23, 2026.

Bringing together the entire SaMi team, the event provided an opportunity to celebrate the programme’s journey, reflect on key achievements, and recognize the collective efforts that have contributed to its impact over the past 15 years. Participants also identified areas requiring further attention and discussed strategies to strengthen the institutionalization and sustainability of migration services.

A major highlight of the event was the celebration of SaMi’s 15-year journey. The occasion rekindled cherished memories, celebrated past accomplishments, and inspired renewed commitment among staff to continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of migrants and their families. 🎉🥳🙌

The SaMi Programme is a bilateral initiative of the governments of Nepal and Switzerland. The programme is implemented in partnership between federal, provincial, and local governments. Helvetas Nepal provides technical assistance to the programme on behalf of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
